The Kollur Sri Mookambika Devi Temple is one of the most revered Hindu pilgrimage destinations in South India, located in Kollur, Udupi District, Karnataka. Nestled on the banks of the sacred Souparnika River and surrounded by the lush Kodachadri Hills, the temple is dedicated to Goddess Mookambika, the divine embodiment of Shakti (Power), Lakshmi (Wealth), and Saraswati (Wisdom).

The temple is renowned for its Swayambhu (self-manifested) Jyotirlinga, which features a unique golden line (Suvarna Rekha). According to tradition:

Left Side: Represents the Tridevi – Mahakali, Mahalakshmi, and Mahasaraswati. Right Side: Represents the Trimurti – Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva.

The temple also houses a Panchaloha idol of Goddess Mookambika, believed to have been installed by Adi Shankaracharya. It is regarded as one of the sacred Mukti Sthalas of Karnataka and holds immense spiritual significance.

Dress Code

Visitors are encouraged to wear traditional and modest attire while entering the temple.

👨 For Men Traditional Dhoti (Mundu) is preferred. A traditional shawl (Angavastram) may be worn over the shoulders.
